Library
A very traditional British room, deep red walls and dark mahogany furniture on oak floors and a massive rug. Lots of books, an internet access point, sofas, desk, study table and chairs and sumptuous soft furnishings. Usually a quiet room, but is very flexible what quintessentially English libary would be complete without a secret door... through to the bar.
The Kitchen & Dining Room
A professional kitchen complete with gas hobs, two large ovens and a solid top stove sits at one end of the large room which is certainly not short of preparation space. Any would-be chef can attempt the creative, otherwise bring a chef or use one of ours.
Opening in to a large dining area means that there is more than enough room for a gathering around a single large table. A door opens on to a south facing area with tables and chairs so if the weather is right then even breakfast can be enjoyed al fresco. If the weather does not permit such a thing then the wood burning stove and under floor heating will keep you comfortable.
The Snug Room
This room has two leather sofas and a glass coffee table and makes a comfortable ante room. A large door allows access to the rear garden.
The Bar
The bar area is large and airy and dominated by the very retro and fully-equipped bar. Equipped with a flat screen TV with SkySports package as well as a gold leather seating area the bar is both comfortable and lavish in its feel. Folding patio doors open on to the large terrace which can be covered by the awning if the weather calls for it and as the temperature drops in the evening the heaters can be switched on.
We have all of the fridges and freezers that you will require to keep your wines, Champagnes, beers, sof drinks and spirits kept at the perfect temperature, fresh ice in the large capacity ice machine, and a range of bar accoutrements to ensure that you can relax and have fun as soon as you arrive.
The Pool Room
Easily large enough to accommodate the pool table this striking room also contains the centralised music system allowing you to determine the music in each room of the house from the bar to the summer house. Golden oak flooring, a living flame gas fire and floor to wall mirror bring the wall colour to life and the large windows allow the room to literally sparkle.
The Garden
You don't expect to find big gardens so close to the city centre, but The Residence has one. A beautiful Italianate terrace one with boule piste, croquet lawn, a gorgeous fountain, a trampoline and the summer house. You will find a range of herbs, from marjoram to sage, as well as apple and pear trees that bear quite lovely fruit and, if you are lucky, there will be some wild strawberries left.
The Summer House
Is the muse taking you, or do you fancy sneaking off for a doze? Leave the main building and relax in this wired-for-sound out-building that will change its nature to accommodate tea for two, a concentrated hammering of the MacBook keyboard, or champagne as the sun goes down - all by yourself, with a friend or a party of friends, the choice is yours.
Just behind the summerhouse is a large sunken trampoline.
The Steam Room
Impossible to photogrpah due to the wall to wall mirrors. Large enough to seat five in comfort, the steam room is situated by the sauna and the luxuriously appointed treatment room.
The Sauna
Pine panelled as any good sauna should be but with striking stone flooring to take the edge off. Suitable for up to 5 people.
The sauna is situated by our luxuriously appointed treatment room and steam room.
