The house is laid out on four floors.
The front entrance is on the first floor and the back entrance on the ground floor, which is where the servants offices were in olden times and where we currently have the laundry, sauna, shower room, bathroom and lavatory, small kitchen and diner plus two double bedrooms and a lounge with big plasma screen and wood-burning stove with doors opening onto a beautiful sun-bathed terrace.
As you move upstairs you enter a sub-landing which contains the office and lavatory.
Moving from there into the main marble-floored hall with 10 seater dining table, there are two lounges, each with a log-burning fireplace and plasma TVs.
A bit further along is the main kitchen, which is black granite, acid-etched glass and steel. This adjoins a granite-floored dining room (table seat eight) with access to one of the loggias, where there are pews for sitting out and taking sundowners with the swifts in the roof above. The kitchen has Neff cookers, fridge, freezer, microwave, and espresso machine built in and faces a big black Aga - used by a friend as his inspiration for a book about cooking fish on the Aga.
To the rear of the kitchen is a pantry with double dish-washers, american fridge-freezer and double drinks chillers
