Unless you have come to Bath by accident you will already know something about this fine City. It is many things to many people - the graveyard of ambition, say some; the incubator of many a fine company, band, film or book, say others. A great place for a celebration, say even more and a perfect spot for a get-away say all of us. A chocolate box of cream and honey formal architecture and yet it also where the term 'jerry-built' originated. It has been revered by the Romans and Georgians, who brought us therapeutic baths and the very best of adult entertainment. A visit to Bath could cure gout, be the cause of unmentionable complaints and be the ruin of many a lover of chance.

The Thermae Bath Spa is a fantastic place to pamper yourself but if you would rather not mix with the masses then why not use our ESPA trained therapist at The Residence Spa

The restaurant scene in Bath in very lively and delivers a fine range of restaurants and gastro pubs. Just a few minutes walk from The Residence is highly rated Bath Priory restaurant currently under the stewardship of Michael Caines, a protege of the mercurial Raymond Blanc.

Close to Bath is Lucknam Park Hotel where the talented Hywel Jones cooks up Michelin rated food with a country house setting that matches the quality of the food.

Well worth a visit is the the two Michelin star 'Dining Room' at Whatley Manor Hotel just off of Junction 17 of the M4 motorway. For details of other reliable restaurants please feel free to ask when booking.

Alternatively you could stay in and have a chef and staff look after you for the evening, you get the choice of a broad menu cooked by a very talented chef. For further details and costs please ask on booking.

Live entertainment in Bath revolves around the Theatre Royal where a play can be broken before it even gets to the West End. Bath is also home to some fine musicians who occasionally try out new numbers in their own backyard possibly at one of the many festivals - more than 20 at the last count which cover everything be it music, food, Shakespeare, boule or even puppetry.
