his is our western-most room and is probably our most romantic. (No, not because of four-poster beds and Laura Ashley décor, we don't do that). Simply because it is the ideal bolt-hole, the perfect place for holing up, hoisting the drawbridge and sending down for room service - for the whole week.

It too has terrific views of Royal Victoria Park and urban Bath through huge Georgian windows and if it looks cold outside then a white marble fireplace gives you the option of warm and cosy flames. The over-large bath and shower room has enough Grohe water-dispensing equipment to fulfil every aquatic need, with underfloor heating for the travertine flooring to ensure the toes are kept au point.

The 6' wooden bed is as welcoming as a bed can be, whether romance or relaxation is your desire du jour. The campaign chest of comestibles and conundrums is partnered by the heavily disguised drinks fridge, to provide everything you need in case the world ends or in the unlikely event that room service isn't nippy enough. If the creative muse hasn't arrived, the huge TV/DVD might provide the neutral time to hurry it along.
